We seek and search out wisdom and knowledge of the things of this world, just as Solomon did. However, Solomon discovered that wisdom ‘under the sun’, apart from God, left him unfulfilled and discontented. In 1 Kings 3, we learn that Solomon asked God for wisdom to rule His people. Instead of requesting material riches, comfort, or pleasure, Solomon desired to advance God. Search for wisdom like that, Solomon said, and "you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God." (Proverbs ) 3. Godly wisdom leads directly to godly action. Job knew that sheer knowledge about God wasn't enough. Real wisdom would lead to real action. 'The fear of the Lord-that is wisdom.

So we see that Jesus Christ and His word are the same, and in His word is hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And His word is pure and preserved for us. Verses on Wisdom from the Book of Proverbs. Proverbs Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. Proverbs On the lips of him who has understanding, wisdom is found, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks sense. Proverbs When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.   The person who thinks the money he makes is meant mainly to increase his comforts on earth is a fool, Jesus says. Wise people know that all their money belongs to God and should be used to show that God, and not money, is their treasure, their comfort, their joy, and their security.
